Pip and I are still foraging away trying to find the beats to fill our next record and to be honest its a long way off! But we decided to play a new track yesterday on Lauren Laverne’s 6music show, its potentially called “The Beat” and you can listen to it here for the next 6 days, forward the player to about 1hr 42mins to hear it!

Ahhhhh May is nearly here and with it comes another splendid line up at the Satin Lizard Lounge. May 13th is going to be a special night. We have carefully chosen two poets that intertwine like a bowl of turkey twizzlers!
Ross Sutherland and Chris Hicks will be doing a set tonight that will vear from individual pieces to combined pieces and back again. With an almost offensive amount of humour and intelligence these boys will blow you head off then politely place them back atop your head after hiding a secret note under it.
For your musical delight this week we have the man, the myth, Gideon Conn! I first stumbled upon Gideon at Glastonbury 2007 and i have been obsessed since. I have now seen him live around 30 times and have been left feeling warm, entertained and fulfilled everytime.
Once again we are providing an insanely strong line up absolutely FREE at Puregroove Records from 6.30pm-8pm.

Back by dope demand!
After a storming opener, Wednesday April 22nd see us going full steam ahead at the Satin Lizard Lounge! More poets, more music and more FREE entry! And this week we show the strength of the women on the scene!
First up we have Poeticat. Poeticat has been playing gigs all round the UK and the festival scene for afew years now. With deep, heartfelt tales and stories she will have the crowd enraptured from start to finish.
Next up we have Excentral Tempest. Now, anyone on the spoken owrd scene/circuit will know just how good Excentral Tempest is. Generally considered to be at the top of the spoken word mountain right now, Tempest will fill her stage time with so much knowledge and intensity you may need to cool off once she leaves the stage. Not to be missed. Also check out her band Sound of Rum who a very good indeed as well.
Finally this week we have Peggy Sue providing the musical section of the night! We have played many a gig with these gals and taken them on tour with us once or twice. Having just made a huge impact at SXSW before recording their new album in New York, this stripped down, intimate set will be the bestest i swear!
So get down to Puregroove Records….6.30pm-8pm.

Wednesday 8th April is the first ever edition of my Satin Lizard Lounge!
It is going to be an ace night! Its FREE and its from 6.30 – 8pm at Puregroove Records.
For the big launch we have Dockers MC. She did an instore at puregroove afew months back and it was rammed so we had to get her in for the launch! Currently working on her second book of poetry she delivers wonderful, often character based, pieces that will have you laughing out loud.
We also have the linguistic skills of Ventriloquist! Ventriloquist has run nights in London for several years now and has always provided a great vibe. From the first time i had him as a guest on my Radio One poetry slot he instantly became a fan favourite. Combining great wit with even greater energy Ventriloquist is a site to see live!
Finally, providing the musical content this week we have Josh Weller. Josh is pretty much impossible to watch and not enjoy! Josh is about to release his new EP and has been getting plenty of support all over the radio and internet so we are really lucky to have him down for the launch!
So thats the big launch! Head down and join me for a night of credit crunch quashing fun!
