Like all good things, on Wednesday May 27th my run at the Satin Lizard Lounge is coming to an end. This is the last of 4 that i have booked and hosted and by god we are going out with a bang!
We have Joshua Idehen providing energetic and well observed poems for you. Joshua was at one of the first spoken word nights i ever went to and he stole the show and made me go home and up my game! He is in several collectives (Poem Inbetween People, Benin City) that are tearing it up this summer on the festival circuit. Also Mr dan le sac did a track with him called Cupid which is on dan’s myspace, check it.
Next up is Joshuas partner in rhyme, Musa Okwonga. I once went up against Musa in a poetry slam. I gave my all and felt confident…until he took the stage and delivered one 10 minute piece. I promptly lost out to the better man. Published author and one of the most highly rated poets in the UK, dont miss out!
Then we have the mystery element! This week being the last week, will have a secret guest or two!
Rest assured the night will be a great one. It may over run a little but hey, its our last night for now!
